Security inspections List of FAQ about substances and articles
Be careful with following articles and substancesMany articles in our daily use can, when transported on an aeroplane, be dangerous because of e.g. temperature or pressure variations or vibrations. Where limitations are mentioned on the list below, they are applicable to each person. Aerosols
Medicinal or toilet articles, including aerosols, may be carried either in
carry-on baggage or in checked baggage. Also non-flammable non-toxic
aerosols for sporting or home use may be carried in checked baggage only.
The total net quantity of all such articles carried by each person must
not exceed 2 kg or 2 L and the net quantity of each single article must
not exceed 0.5 kg or 0.5 L.Alcoholic beverages
May be carried either in carry-on baggage or in checked baggage with a total
net quantity not exceeding 5 L. The alcoholic content must not be more
than 70 per cent by volume. Observe customs regulations.
AmmunitionSecurely boxed cartridges for hunting or sporting
purposes for personal use may be carried with the approval of the operator
in checked baggage only in quantities not exceeding 5 kg gross mass per
person.Art suppliesArt colours packed
in tubes are normally not dangerous and may therefore be carried either in
carry-on baggage or in checked baggage. Solvents for art colours may be
dangerous, flammable liquids, which must not be carried on an aeroplane.
If the solvent only contains linseed oil, it is not regarded as a
dangerous substance. It should, however, also be considered that rags
dampened with linseed oil may heat up and ignite in contact with air, for
this which reason linseed oil is considered regarded as they are dangerous
and forbidden for air transport.AxeMay

Forbidden. Mosquito deterrents which are applied on the skin may be carried
either in carry-on baggage or in checked baggage on the same preconditions
as the above mentioned medicinal or toilet articles or aerosols for

Medicines or medical equipment, e.g. an insulin pump, which are needed by
a passenger for the care of his/her condition during the journey, will not
be removed from him/her in the security check. To find out about the
practice in the destination country, the travel agency can be consulted.

Life jacketsSelf inflating life jackets fitted with gas

gas such as carbon dioxide or air. No more than two spare canisters are
permitted.LightersOnly one lighter for
the passenger´s own use may be carried on the person, e.g. in a pocket.

MatchesOnly one packet for the passenger's own use may be

Small gaseous oxygen or air cylinders required for medical use may be
carried with the approval of the operator either in carry-on baggage or in
checked baggage. For example, carriage of gas cylinders used as diving
equipment is forbidden unless the cylinders are emptied.

equipment used in Finland do not harm photographic films or video records.
In other countries there may, however, be different equipment in use, for
which reason carriage in carry-on baggage is recommended.
Portable computerRecommended to be carried as carry-on baggage.
Operators usually restrict the use of electronic devices by passengers on
the aeroplane, for which reason cabin crew must be consulted before using
them or advice sought from the airline before flight. If the portable
computer contains lithium batteries or other dangerous substances,
relevant restrictions must be observed (see batteries and cells).

travel with carry-on baggage only, you may carry a plastic safety razor
equipped with a blade fixed permanently to the plastic handle.
