Transport Administration Reform will not affect existing certificates and ratings

At the beginning of year 2010, CAA Finland will become part of the new Finnish Transport Safety Agency. However, any certificates and ratings issued by it will remain valid also after 1 January – as indicated on the certificate. From January 2010 onwards, the certificates and approvals will be issued by the Transport Safety Agency.

As of 1.1.2010, CAA Finland will be merged with the Finnish Vehicle Administration, Finnish Rail Agency and the safety functions of the Finnish Maritime Administration to form a new Transport Safety Agency TraFi. After the reform, aviation licences and certificates will be issued by the Transport Safety Agency instead of CAA Finland.

The change will not affect the validity of any certificates, approvals, prohibitions or decisions issued by CAA Finland before 1 January 2010. They remain valid as indicated on the document.

Soon after the reform, some of our clients will hold a certificate issued by CAA Finland, while some others’ certificates have been issued by the Transport Safety Agency. Nevertheless, all of these certificates are equally valid.
