Services related to airworthiness and maintenance


Airworthiness and maintenance issues are handled by the Airworthiness Department under the Finnish Transport Safety Authority’s Aviation Sector. The Department is further divided into units responsible for aeronautical products, aircraft maintenance and sport aviation.

The European Union's joint aviation authority, EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), commenced its operations on 28 September 2003. EASA assumed all duties assigned to it in the EASA regulation after a 42-month transition period, in March 2007. This has affected the services provided by the Airworthiness Department of CAA Finland.
