Iraq - Finland - Air Services Agreement


The Finland - Iraq Air Services Agreement was signed in 1980 and it has entered into force.

Designation principles

Single designation. A designation may be refused if one Party is not satisfied that substantial ownership
and effective control of the designated airline are vested in the Party designating the airline or in its
nationals. Notwithstanding this principle a designation of a joint air transport enterprise constituted in accordance with Articles 77 and 79 of the Chicago Convention shall be accepted.

Traffic rights for the designated airline of Finland

Route possibilities: Points in Finland - Berlin (Schonefled) - Athens or Istanbul - Baghdad - further points beyond; or points in Finland - One point in the Russian Federation south of Moscow - Baghdad - further points beyond. Points beyond shall be specified and agreed between the aeronautical authorities. Fifth freedom rights are in principle granted at intermediate and beyond points. Unused traffic rights are presently available.
