Aerial work
Aerial work in FinlandOn the basis of the Finnish Aviation Act (1194/2009) and Aviation Regulation OPS M1-23, an approval of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency (CAA Finland) is normally required for aerial work in Finland. However, an aerial work approval is not required if the operator´s domicile or principal place of business is in another European Union member state and it has an approval, qualification or equivalent to perform aerial work in that state. Approval is also not needed if the operation does not deviate from the normal operational requirements as specified in Aviation Regulation OPS M1-23. In any case the operator should notify CAA Finland of its intentions by providing the information listed below: 1. Name, address, telephone number, telefax number and e-mail address of the operator 2. Details of the operation a) Type of operation to be flown, including the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP´s) for special operations b) Where the operation is to take place c) Name and address of the customer d) When the operation is to be started e) Duration of the operation 3. Type, registration (and owner) of the aircraft Copies of the following documentation are also required: 1. Operating license (or alternatively any other operating permit) and/or AOC (Air Operator´s Certificate) or equivalent. 2. Application for any special approvals (low level/distance from obstacles, operating outside approved landing sites, dangerous goods, etc.) 3. Appropriate liability insurance. |
